Molly Norris’ Facebook Page Hacked, Death Threats Issued.

A Hacker describing himself as a “Pakistani Student” who “Loves Mohammad” has hacked the Facebook Page of Molly Norris.

Molly Hacked

In further discussion on the same status the hacker issued death threats against the cartoonist:

Norris had inadvertently started the viral “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day” when she protested death threats to the creators of South Park. However, Ms. Norris has distanced herself from “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day”, a group which was not started or endorsed by her, on a number of occasions. Her website still has disclaimers condemning the group.Furthermore, Ms. Norris promotes the group “Against Everybody Draw Mohammad Day” from her website and has joined muslim Facebook groups such as “Introduce Mohmmad Day”.

However, cycynism and suspicsions regarding Ms. Norris’ motives never died down. Several Muslims commented on her wall:

The comments above are from before Molly Norris' account was hacked.

When will Muslims start protesting people like this Hacker that bring disgrace to their faith by acting in illegal and immoral ways?

The death threats have been removed, but I still HIGHLY DOUBT Facebook will take any further actions to ensure the safety of its users. First, they sell our identities, then they allow death threats. What will be next?

    • khawerkhan says:

The death threats were removed by the hacker, not facebook. Thats why I was grabbing all the screen shots I could. I have a lot more, perhaps I’ll make that another blog post.

I bet my Muslim friends will be really happy if I tell them about this. I know this will sound really politically incorrect, but most or at least way too many Pakistani Muslims are a very ignorant lot. If Pakistani Muslims want us to think they’re not ignorant and violent, they need to be as vociferous as the extremists, but sadly, many moderate … See moreMuslims are either apathetic or actually just as bad as the extremists.

Moderate Muslims are willfully ignorant of the fact that there’s little difference in their moral philosophy and that of the extremists. They believe pretty much everything the extremists do, but are too hypocritical to actually live like the extremists. They need to redefine what Islam and being a Muslim are. I won’t say what “real Islam” is, but I daresay that Islam as it’s understood by most Muslims is a philosophy of rejecting worldliness and glorifying death and authoritarianism in the guise of spreading piety and righteousness.

True evil isn’t being evil yourself, but being indifferent about the spread of it. Moderate Muslims need to realize that they’re being truly evil when they’re silent about censorship, death threats, und so weiter. They should be the loudest in censuring censorship, death threats from extremists and atrocities committed in the name of Islam.

Instead of boycotting facebook, moderate Muslims should’ve been the most active on facebook. They should’ve been condemning the LHC and the extremists on facebook, but no, they care more about their prohet’s honour than truly important things.
